External Auditing Services

The NHT invites qualified auditing firms/chartered accountants to submit proposals to perform the annual audit of the NHT’s Financial Statements for a period of four (4) years, commencing October 1, 2023.  The auditing firm/chartered accountant will be required to:

 

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

The auditing firm/chartered accountant will be required to:

  • Examination of NHT’s Annual Financial Statements in accordance with the provisions of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Reviewing and testing NHT’s compliance with all accounting standards applicable to the NHT.
  • Testing NHT’s compliance with the public sector procurement policies/procedures in accordance with the Government of Jamaica’s (GOJ) Procurement Guidelines.
  • Examination and testing of the NHT’s internal control structure and systems.
  • Determining whether funds expended are in compliance with NHT’s established policies/procedures.
  • Determining whether revenues are being properly collected, deposited and accounted for by the NHT.
  • Confirming whether:
  1. Proper accounting records have been kept by the NHT.
  2. The NHT’s Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Profit or Loss and Other Comprehensive Income, Statement of Changes in Accumulated Fund, Statement of Cash Flows and other explanatory notes are in agreement with the accounting records.

 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Tenderers must provide:

  • Evidence of tax compliance
  • Copy of a valid Certificate of practice in Jamaica by the Public Accountancy Board and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica (ICAJ) for the Lead Engagement Partner on this assignment.

Proposal packages are available for download from the GOJ’s e-procurement website at https://www.gojep.gov.jm, from Tuesday, March 14, 2023.

 

RETURN OF PROPOSALS

Proposals must be submitted online on or before Monday, April 17, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Proposals will be opened online via the e-procurement website at https://www.gojep.gov.jm on the same day, immediately following the proposal submission deadline.

 

N.B.: “The NHT reserves the right not to award a contract to any party with whom it is currently in litigation or with whom it has been previously involved in litigation.”
