What is the Developers Programme?

The Developers’ Programme is an initiative by the NHT, to increase the supply of affordable housing by partnering with local and international developers in the private sector, to facilitate the production of low-cost housing solutions on lands owned by the NHT.

 

How Does It Work?

  • The NHT provides land suitable for housing development
  • NHT may make the land title available to developers to secure financing
  • The developer designs, finances, secures approvals and constructs the project, according to specifications laid down by the NHT
  • NHT guarantees to purchase a minimum of 80% of the resulting housing solutions, from the developer
  • Developers may retain up to 20% of the solutions for their own disposal

 

How does the Developer Benefit?

  • The developer will have access to the project land title to secure financing along with the NHT undertaking to purchase a minimum of 80% of the housing solutions within the development.
  • The developer may gain increased visibility and consumer confidence in future projects.

How to apply

  • Get pre-qualified: complete the Developers Programme forms located on our website.  
  • Respond to Request for Proposal (RFP): sent by the NHT to pre-qualified developers
  • The NHT will evaluate the proposals based of the requirements stipulated in the RFP and enter into an agreement with the developer if proposal is approved.

 

What Do I need to Apply?

  • Developers Programme Application Form
  • Fit & Proper Form (each Director of the Company is required to separately complete the Fit and Proper section of the form)
  • Applicant personnel & capacity (technical and operational) information
    • Business registration documents (according to jurisdiction)
    • Directors, shareholders, beneficial owners and
    • Personnel, capacity & organizational chart
  • Performance record for the last 10 years
  • Finances
    • Audited financial statements for the last three (3) years;
    • Balance sheets
    • Income & expenditure statements
    • Listing of litigation claims
  • Referees
  • Attorneys
