Claim Submission Deadline
All NHT mortgagors who suffered damage to property from Hurricane Melissa may submit an insurance claim by Thursday, January 15, 2026, at any NHT Office island wide.
What You’ll Need to Submit
Please prepare the following documents before visiting your nearest NHT office:
- A completed Peril Insurance Claim Form
- An estimate of the damage from a contractor or qualified assessor
- Photographs of the damage (very important)
- Your valid identification (passport, driver’s license or national ID) and Taxpayer Registration Number (TRN)
- A letter of authorization, if someone other than the mortgagor is submitting the claim.
- This letter should be witnessed by a Justice of the Peace or a Notary Public
- It should also be accompanied by a notarized copy of the mortgagor’s identification and TRN

Important Notice
Temporary repairs may be undertaken, after being photographed, in cases where failure to do the repair would result in further damage.
Please keep receipts for all repairs done, as these should be submitted with your claim.
